Most people think canine remedial massage is just… massage. And while hands-on treatment is absolutely part of it, there's a lot more that goes into a session than most dog owners realise.
It's not just a massage. Here's what actually happens when I come to visit your dog.

We start with a chat
Every session begins with understanding your dog. What you've been noticing, their history, and how they're moving day to day all matter. You know your dog better than anyone — so your observations are one of the most valuable tools I have.

Then I watch your dog move
Before I even begin treatment, I observe how your dog walks, stands, sits, and gets up. These everyday movements tell me a lot before I even touch them.

I'm looking for things like stiffness, weight shifting, hesitation, and uneven movement. These small changes are often early signs the body is compensating — and they're easy to miss if you don't know what to look for.

Then I get hands on
Next, I gently feel through the body to find tight or overworked muscles, areas not moving as freely as they should, and spots doing more work than they should be.

This helps me understand not just where the issue is, but why your dog is moving the way they are — not just where it feels tight, but what's actually going on.

Then we move into treatment
Treatment is tailored to what your dog needs on the day. Using canine remedial massage, I work to improve circulation, reduce muscular tension, and support more comfortable, efficient movement.

Your dog sets the pace. Some relax straight into it… others take a minute to decide if I'm their new best friend 😅 Either way, I work at whatever pace feels right for them.

You'll leave with a plan
Before I leave, I'll always show you simple things you can do at home to keep supporting your dog between sessions.

You'll also get a personalised aftercare plan — so you know exactly how to support your dog moving forward and feel confident doing it.

Then we reassess
Follow-up sessions include a reassessment to track your dog's progress and see how they're responding. This is how we make sure the treatment is working and adjust as needed.

If your dog isn't moving the way they used to, it's something worth looking into. I offer mobile dog massage therapy servicing Sale to Maroondah and everywhere in between.
